His district was based in the state capital, Richmond; it included much of the area between Richmond and Hampton Roads. He was born on July 14, 1974, in Petersburg, Virginia.
Donald McEachin was born in October of 1950 to Justin and Rachel McEachin, who had emigrated to the United States from Ireland. McEachin grew up in Richmond, where he graduated from Benedictine High School before attending the College of William & Mary on an athletic scholarship, where he received both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in political science in 1973 and 1975 respectively. He would later go on to receive his Juris Doctor from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 1981.
Early Life and Career
Donald McEachin was born in 1946 and grew up in Richmond, VA. He graduated from Winston-Salem State University, where he majored in political science. After graduating, he served as a teacher for one year before going to law school at the University of Virginia. He graduated from there and opened his own private practice law firm.
McEachin became a member of the Democratic Party while attending college and continued to be active in politics throughout his life. He served on the Board of Supervisors for Richmond’s Third District, as well as being elected chairman of the Richmond City Council three times – two years consecutively and one year non-consecutively.
In 2017, Donald McEachin was elected to represent the 4th congressional district for the Democratic Party.

Donald McEachin He graduated from Benedictine College before attending American University where he earned a degree in political science and history with a minor in mass communication.
Upon graduation, he joined the Army National Guard as a commissioned officer and served for four years on active duty with the 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley from 1999 to 2003 as an armor officer.
