The Top Five Reasons to Root for the Lakers This Season

by Forbes Magazine November 30, 2022 0 Comment

The Los Angeles Lakers have been one of the most successful teams in NBA history, winning 16 league championships as of 2018 (the second-most in NBA history, behind the Boston Celtics). They also hold the record for NBA’s longest winning streak (33 straight games) and longest unbeaten streak (49 straight games). Kobe Bryant, currently the third-leading scorer in NBA history, played with the Lakers from 1996 to 2016 and holds several team records, including all-time leading scorer, the number of games played, and a number of All-Star appearances.

The Los Angeles Lakers are an American professional basketball team based in Los Angeles, California, that competes in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Lakers play their home games at Staples Center, an arena shared with the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers, the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women’s National Basketball Association, and the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League. The Lakers are one of the most successful teams in the history of the NBA and have won 16 NBA championships, their last being in 2010. As of 2014, they are the second-most valuable franchise according to Forbes, having an estimated value of $1 billion.

They’re the Underdogs

This season, the Lakers are underdogs. They have a young team and not much experience, but they’re hungry and ready to win. The Lakers will give their all this season and you should too! Here are three reasons why:

1- Kobe Bryant is Back! He’s been out of action for over a year due to an injury, but he’s back in the game!

2- The Lakers are Fun. They’re going to be unpredictable and exciting, which makes it even more fun rooting for them!

3- D’Angelo Russell is on His Way. He’s only 20 years old and has already proven himself as one of the league’s top point guards. There’s nothing quite like seeing a player with potential grow up before your eyes.

They Have Kobe Bryant

No matter what jersey Kobe Bryant is wearing, he’ll always be a Laker at heart. If you want to see more of the Black Mamba on the court this season, there’s no better way than cheering him on with Lakers Nation. Here are four reasons why you should pull for Kobe and company this year:

1) To see if they can get back into contention – The Lakers have been mired in mediocrity over the past few years, with just one playoff appearance since 2010. With so much talent on their roster (along with a new coach), there’s no better time than now to get back into championship contention.

2) To cheer them on during their trip to London- In honor of the NBA Global Games series, Lakers fans will get to enjoy watching their team play live from London when they take on the Philadelphia 76ers.

3) For an incredible pre-game show- Whether you’re a longtime fan or someone who’s interested in becoming one, it doesn’t get any better than being at Staples Center for an opening night game against hated rivals Boston Celtics.

4) When Kobe plays his final game- After 20 seasons as a professional basketball player, it looks like we’re finally approaching the end of an era. Who knows how many games Kobe has left? You never know when his last game could be played–and it could happen this season!

They’re From Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Lakers are an American professional basketball team based in Los Angeles. The Lakers compete in the National Basketball Association as a member of the league’s Western Conference Pacific Division. As one of nine teams to have won at least 16 NBA championships, they’re one of just four NBA teams with more than three titles and are third in NBA Finals victories. Recently, their dominance has been challenged by other Western Conference powers like Golden State and Houston.

Some people might not be excited about rooting for a team that has let them down so many times before, but this season has been different. The Lakers are currently sitting at number two on ESPN’s rankings and have looked strong all year long. Here are five reasons why you should consider rooting for them this season

Furthermore, they have legends like Kobe Bryant who is one of only two players in NBA history with at least 25000 points and 6000 assists.

They’re the Lakers

All Lakers fans know that their team has a long, storied history of success. The Lakers are one of the most successful teams in NBA history, winning 16 championships and making over 40 playoff appearances. With so much success, it’s hard not to be a fan. Here are five reasons why you should root for the Lakers this season.

1) The Lakers have a long history of success 2) Kobe Bryant is back! 3) The team is still young and talented 4) You can’t go wrong with purple and gold 5) There’s always next year!
