  • National University of Science and Technology (MISIS) 

MISIS was established in 1918 and today in 2021 intends to strengthen its leadership positions in a number of areas, including material sciences, metallurgy, and mining, as well as strongly strengthen its presence in biomaterials, nano-, and IT technologies. The university has shown significant growth in the QS World University Rankings and in the QS World University Rankings by Subject in three areas: “Materials Science”, “Physics”, “Mechanical Engineering”. Additionally, NUST MISIS has been included in the ARWU-2018 Ranking and the ARWU Global Ranking of Academic Subjects in two categories: Metallurgical Engineering and Mining & Mineral Engineering.

It has 30 research centers and laboratories as well as 3 engineering centers with modern research equipment. The University provides 9 English-medium master’s programs in Physics, Material Science, and Nanotechnologies. In 2020 Sberbank and MISIS signed a cooperation agreement and approved a roadmap until 2024. The agreement provides for the joint education of specialists on the bachelor’s and master’s programs, the opening of a service robotics laboratory based on the university infrastructure, and the conduct of joint scientific research.

  • National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute”

MPEI was founded in 1930 and is one of Russia’s leading technical universities in the fields of Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Radio Engineering and Electronics, Informatics, and Computer Science. Modern power engineering encompasses power generation (hydropower, wind power, thermal, nuclear, solar, and space power, among others), electrical equipment, materials science, electronics, classical and applied physics, radio engineering and communication, computer systems, management, and economics in power engineering.

All of these areas of specialization, as well as others, are open to international undergraduate and graduate students at MPEI. Since 1946, MPEI has been educating engineers and scientists for foreign countries. At the moment, MPEI trains approximately 1700 international students from 68 countries.
